Paloma Paradise is a Sativa-leaning strain, bred by crossing Lemon OGKB (Kush Breath x Girl Scout Cookies) x Spirit Molecule. Nothern Emeralds has been on my list to try for a while, because I have heard mixed reviews, so I was excited to try this jar. The reviewed batch was purchased from Slocal Roots in San Luis Obispo, CA.
First Impressions: 9.3/10
I am really impressed with Northern Emeralds packaging, because it's simple, visually appealing and informative. The nugs are equally easy on the eyes, with 2 medium-large nugs taking up the majority of the eighth, and 3 smaller nugs filling it out. The nugs themselves have beautiful twisting Christmas tree shapes, with various shades of green flecked with purple leaves and orange hairs. Testing as follows:
Package Date: 5/3/23
Total Cannabinoids: 33%; Total THC: 33%
Total Terpenes: 3.67%
Smell/Taste: 8.7/10
This strain's smell + taste live up to its name - with a dominating tart grapefruit flavor, backed up by lime zest and a slight spice. It is unique and checks the boxes on flavor for me. Definitely not hit-you-at-arms-length loud, which I think it partly because it is a bit over-dried. The smoke is smooth and super flavorful with a pleasant grapefruit aftertaste, and it burns to white ash.
Effects: 9.0/10
Slow rolling effects that fully kick in over 5-10 minutes. Paloma Paradise is highly euphoric for a sativa leaning strain, with a mellow, full body feeling accompanied by a strong head buzz that is not anxiety inducing or jittery. Definitely still brings a slight creative energy to the table. Medium-long duration.
Overall: 9.0/10
Very pleasantly surprised all in all, it loses a point mostly for being slightly too dry but has a very unique flavor profile and effect.
