Gorilla Cookies (Reverie) by Phases - Strain Review

Updated: Aug 2

Gorilla Cookies is a Sativa-leaning hybrid cannabis strain, bred by crossing two beloved strains, Gorilla Glue and Mandarin Cookies. I picked up a 7g bag of their "happy mediums" small/medium nugs from ERBA Markets in LA and was excited to try this given that its been harder to find good Gorilla Glue genetics lately. Read on for the full review!

First impressions: 9.0/10

This bag of "happy mediums" contained popcorn nugs and smalls, with none of the buds being too small or shakey. They have a beautiful dark purple and contrasting light green/orange coloration, and are nicely dusted in trichs. The nugs are well cured, maybe slightly dry. Testing as follows (I appreciate them putting the LucID with full COA/testing):

Package Date: 2/2/24

THC: 24.30%

Total Cannabinoids: 24.50%

Total terpenes: 2.88%

Dominant terpenes: b-myrcene, b-caryophyllene, a-humulene, trans-nerolidol

Smell/taste: 9.3/10

Cream, pine, orange, sugar cookies, spice. Loud and fairly unique, this cross definitely scratches my gorilla glue itch. The flavor matches up with the smell in terms of complexity/loudness. Smooth smoke.

Effects: 8.6/10

Quick onset high that focuses in the head and behind the eyes with a strong energetic buzz. Uplifting and motivating, this is a good social daytime hybrid strain that will keep you going without increasing anxiety. Medium-long effect duration.

Overall: 9.0/10

A really pleasing strain that delivers in terms of appeal, flavor and effects. It is not the most "smack-you-in-the-face" strain, but this can be a good thing for those with anxiety, or for times that you want to smoke and still be semi-functional. Highly reccomend.
